First meeting in Austria

As part of an EU Erasmus project, it was possible for the VS Bad Radkersburg to start this project together with a primary school from Izmir/Turkey and a primary school from Piraeus/Greece. At the end of May/beginning of June 2022, three teachers each from Greece and Turkey visited us to start the project. The workshops were planned together for the next 2 years and our students had the opportunity to get to know different countries. The teachers visited the classes and brought with them traditional fables from their homeland, which they presented to the children using hand puppets, shadow theater, etc. This of course in English. Everyone, our students and guests, had a lot of fun. With the help of fairy tales and fables, we want to give our students in all 3 countries their first impressions of literature.

Meeting in Türkiye (Izmir)

In autumn 2022, 3 teachers from Austria and 4 colleagues from Greece traveled to Izmir to get to know the Turkish school system and to present their country there. Of course, the sights and culinary experiences of the country could not be missed.

Meeting in Greece (Piräus)

The last personal meeting was planned in Piraeus in March 2023. Due to illness, only our Turkish colleagues were able to fly to Piraeus in March and we took part in the meetings via video conference.

In May 2023 the time had come for 3 colleagues from Austria. We flew to Athens to get to know the school system in Piraeus and also to organize some teaching units there. Of course, we also experienced Greek hospitality and experienced Piraeus and Athens with its many sights and traditional dishes.
