Viele Skigebiete starten in die Wintersaison, obwohl Naturschnee noch fehlt. Dank niedriger Temperaturen konnten die Pisten zumindest technisch beschneit werden. Schon im Sommer wurde kräftig investiert, am Nassfeld waren es 16 Millionen Euro für eine neue Gondelbahn auf den Gartnerkofel.
